ThyForLife passess new Digital Health Assessment Framework

ThyForLife Health is the first and ONLY mobile app for managing thyroid health that has passed the Digital Health Assessment Framework (DHAF), a rigorous new scheme that aims to drive up the health app standards in the United States.

VANCOUVER, BC – March 2, 2023 – ThyForLife, the self-management and global community app for all thyroid conditions, has passed through the rigorous new Digital Health Assessment Framework (DHAF) that aims to drive up the health app standards in the United States.

Until now more than 86 million Americans are already using health or fitness apps but there is no clear way to determine whether a product is safe to use. Many products fall outside of existing regulations and federal laws.

The Digital Health Assessment Framework (DHAF) is intended to be an open framework, accessible for anyone to use, to support the adoption of high-quality digital technologies and help healthcare providers and patients make a better-informed decision about which digital health tools best suit their needs. The framework includes components to assess privacy and security, clinical assurance and safety, and usability, and was crafted to support U.S.-specific guidelines, regulations and best practices for digital health technologies.

“We are thrilled that ThyForLife is the only mobile app for thyroid conditions to achieve the DHAF certification,” said ThyForLife’s Founder & CEO Natalia Lumen, who created ThyForLife after personally experiencing the challenges of managing her own thyroid health post-thyroidectomy. “Our members can rest assured that they are using the best digital tools available for managing thyroid health, and medical professionals can have the confidence in their endorsement of ThyForLife given the DHAF accreditation.”

Commenting on ThyForLife’s success, Tim Andrews, COO of ORCHA, said “It has been a pleasure helping ThyForLife Health achieve this important accreditation. ORCHA’s accreditation standards are the world’s toughest, so US healthcare professionals and consumers will know they can trust any digital health products which successfully pass the DHAF.”

The project has been led by The American College of Physicians (ACP) and the American Telemedicine Association (ATA), with ORCHA developing the framework itself. The DHAF allows the independent assessment of the mobile apps and web-based tools used by healthcare providers and consumers.

VANCOUVER, BC ─ November 22, 2022 ─ ThyForLife Health Inc. has launched the ThyForLife Health mobile app in the Japanese language making it accessible to the millions of people with thyroid conditions in Japan. Entering the Japanese market helps deliver on ThyForLife’s mission to help 400M people with thyroid conditions worldwide manage and optimize their health.

This strategic move is encouraged by ThyForLife’s Founder and CEO, Natalia Lumen, who was selected as a delegate for the Second Canadian Women-only Business Mission to Japan in December 2022. The mission focuses on healthcare and clean technologies to emphasize the innovations of Canadian women entrepreneurs.

“It is an honor to be selected to travel to Japan as one of the digital health companies”, says Natalia Lumen.  “The Japanese market is of great interest to ThyForLife as the prevalence of abnormal thyroid function in Japanese adults is nearly 10%, according to a study conducted by Takamatsu Red Cross Hospital in Japan.”

The Women’s Business Mission to Asia series is led by the Asia Pacific Foundation (APF) of Canada, a leader in research and analysis between Canada and Asia for almost 39 years, supported by the Government of Canada.

The Women-only Business Mission Series (2019-2023) to Asia enables Canadian women entrepreneurs promote gender-inclusive trade, support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and catalyze international partnerships between Canadian companies and key markets in Asia Pacific. The participation in the program includes pre-mission training, B2B connections, in-market promotion, and public conferences with high-level speakers. APF Canada has supported over 100 delegates, 500 B2B meetings, and up to 4,000 participants.

This project also supports the Government of Canada’s dual efforts to advance women’s economic empowerment and to promote international trade diversification. Canadian women entrepreneurs are empowered by encouraging their businesses to expand into dynamic markets of Asia Pacific.

New Thyroid Tracker App, ThyForLife: First Launch on Google Play Store

We Launched our brand new app.

The First Launch of the ThyForLife Mobile App is Now Available for Mobile Android Devices

VANCOUVER, CANADA – April 21, 2021 – ThyForLife, a free thyroid tracking app, has launched its first official product following a successful beta app launch in May 2020 where more than 8,000 thyroid patients around the world chose the tool to better understand and manage their thyroid conditions. Downloadable on all mobile Android devices globally, ThyForLife allows users to organize and store all of thyroid patient medical data including bloodwork, medication, weight, and symptoms.

Thyroid cancer survivor, Founder and CEO of ThyForLife, Natalia Lumen, created the mobile app as a way to give back to her community. With a growing team of 12, Lumen commented, “We’re committed to improving the lives of thyroid patients by providing accessible information and thyroid health support in your pocket”.

The latest version of the app converts lab results onto a single scale. Among the variety of different reference ranges and units across lab results, having them on one scale and graph creates a more organized and manageable system for patients. Users now have the enhanced ability to edit and update their medical information, add symptoms, and create notifications to ensure medication is regulated and administered on time – an ongoing problem for patients as referenced by the Food and Drug Administration.

“Everyone on the team is excited to see the app come to fruition after months of hard work,” says Lumen. “We’ve listened to what our beta users told us and built the first version to tackle their core pain points around tracking thyroid data.”

The arrival of ThyForLife for iOS will be coming later this year. To stay updated about future launches visit thyforlife.com and to download the app on the Google Play store visit play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thyforlife.android.
